Exploring ways in which Indigenous communities honor the spirit of the dying/deceased person

The next meeting of the Psychological, Social, Spiritual and Bereavement (PSSB) Special Interest Group will be held  Monday 11 August 2014 10.30am to 3.30pm (Registrations from 10am) at La Trobe University, Franklin Street, Melbourne when the guest presenter, Dr Chris Kavelin, Intercultural Spirituality and Social Transformation consultant, will explore ways in which Indigenous communities honor the spirit of the dying/deceased person.

An experiential session in which Dr Chris Kavelin will offer a presentation that briefly explores a few examples of the ways in which Indigenous communities (in Australia and overseas) honor the spirit of the dying/deceased person. Chris will then offer an experiential exercise to give participants a practical skill of a language that can identify spiritual strengths for those in palliative care.
